A “Works Cited” list for a project would include an alphabetical listing of sources in the format listed below.

ARTICLE FROM A REFERENCE BOOK

Last Name, First Name (if available). “Article Title.” Book Title. Ed. First Name Last Name. Vol (if given). Place of Publication: Publisher, Publication Date. Page numbers. Print.

BOOK (single author)

Last Name, First Name. Title of Book. Place of Publication: Publisher, Publication Date. Format.

BOOK WITH AN EDITOR

Last Name, First Name. Ed. Book Title. Place of Publication: Publisher, Publication Date. Print.

DATABASE ARTICLE (NOT from a magazine or journal article)

Last Name, First Name. “Article Title.” Database Name. Publisher, Publication Date. Format. Date Accessed.

NEWSPAPER ARTICLE FROM A DATABASE

Last Name, First Name. “Article Title.” Title of Newspaper Publication Date: Page Number (if available). Database Name. Format. Date Accessed.

MAGAZINE ARTICLE FROM A DATABASE

Last Name, First Name. “Article Title.” Title of Magazine Publication Date: Page Numbers. Database Name. Format. Date Accessed.

WEBSITE (page from a website)

Editor, author, or compiler name (if available). “Article Title.” Name of Website. Publisher/Sponsor of Website. Date of Last Update. Format. Date Accessed.

IMAGE FROM A WEBSITE

Artist Last Name, First (if available). “Description” or Title of Image. Date of image. Collection/Museum Name (if available). Name of Website. Format. Date Accessed.

IMAGE FROM A DATABASE

Artist Last Name, First (if available). Description or Title of Image. Date of image (or n.d. for no date). Physical Location of Image (if available). Database Name. Format. Date Accessed.
