Attendance Reporting
- ParentVUE
- Beginning in the 24-25 school year, parents/legal guardians can submit full-day absences using ParentVUE. Learn more about attendance reporting through ParentVUE.
- 703-904-5151
When reporting a student's absence, please be specific about why your student will not attend school today.
- If reporting an ill student, include symptoms, especially if they have a fever, nausea, vomiting, sore throat, and/or cough. If your student has a diagnosis from a healthcare provider, please include that information.
Early Dismissal
To minimize disruptions to the classroom learning environment, please have your student bring a note to the main office before school starts detailing the student name, date, time you will pick up your student and the reason for the early dismissal. A pass will be issued to your student to be released from class, and your student will be in the office at the scheduled release time. A parent must come into the office to sign the student out. Please be prepared to show a picture ID. Any person not listed on the Emergency Care Card may not pick up a student from school without written permission from the parent. Please do not use the attendance line to request early dismissal. Print your own Early Dismissal Notes here.
Entering the Building
Please ring the front entrance doorbell and let the front office know that you are checking your student in for late arrival or picking your student up for early dismissal. After entering the building, please sign your child out using the computer in the office.
Types of Absences
Excused Absences
Illness of the student, death in the family, doctor’s or dentist’s appointments, and observance of a religious holiday.
Unexcused Absences
Family trips, childcare situations, non-school-related activities, or missed school bus.
Any child who is absent from school for 15 consecutive days or more must be withdrawn from our enrollment. Upon the child’s return, the parent must again officially enroll him/her.
