As part of the Grade 8 literature study of “The Diary of Anne Frank,” Holocaust survivor and local resident Nesse Godin will visit Franklin Middle School on Tuesday, 20 June 2017 to share her inspiring life story to the Grade 8 students during Falcon Time in the FMS gymnasium.

Mrs. Godin was born in Siauliai, Lithuania, and lived there with her family during the Nazi invasion. Her story chronicles survival of the Siauliai Ghetto, the Stutthof Concentration Camp, four labor camps, and a death march. Today, she dedicates her life to spreading a message of tolerance and hope, while sharing memories of survival. Mrs. Godin has won numerous awards, and her story has been printed in several publications including Washingtonian magazine, Scholastic News, and The Washington Post. Her testimony also appeared in an exhibit at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
